The assessor is charged with the responsibility of assessing real property in the town for purposes of taxation. The assessor also recieves exemption applications for such exemptions as Senior Citizen, Veteran's, STAR, Fisher Act, Disability, etc. On Grievance Day, a board of assessment review hears complaints of property owners and may make adjustments.
